Usually it just means submitting a letter of resignation. The letter should be addressed to your immediate supervisor, with a copy to the Human Resources department for your personnel file.

You need to write a letter explaining that you are resigning and tell them the reason why. It is always good to say something nice about the time you worked there, and give the date the resignation will take place and you will give it to your supervisor, and copies to other pertinent people.

The first step in resigning from a job is to always include that you were privileged to work for that particular employer. You must then explain the circumstance in which you must quit. Lastly, write down your last day of work, which would be two weeks from the date on the letter of resignation.
