Officers of the law are granted search warrants by a judge. The judge is petitioned that sufficient evidence exists to obtain a warrant to search for any number of reasons as they pertain to a criminal investigation. Citizens cannot obtain search warrants. If you feel that such a search is warranted, you must proceed through proper legal channels.

Generally only law enforcement and government agents can obtain a search warrant to search someone's home. If you suspect that someone is up to no good or has committed a crime, report the person to your local Police Department. They will do the proper investigation to determine if a search of the home is needed.

To obtain a legal search warrant you must file a search warrant to a Court to be signed by the State Judge. A specific place must be specified in the warrant.
