Be sure to select an area with both a beam to hang it from, but also at least a few feet around it. Both you and the bag will be moving around! Screw a heavy-duty eye-bolt into the beam, and attach the hardware that came with the bag.

Punching bags are usually hung from an eyelet screw. Since a punching bag can be very heavy, you'll need to screw it into a stud instead of just the drywall.

When you hang it make sure you are putting it into a stud otherwise it will fall also make sure you are using heavy duty hardware to put it up with or it will fall.

Use a stud-finder to locate a ceiling joist, or preferably the intersection of two joists. Use 2-4 3" wood screws to secure the provided mounting hardware to the joist.

When hanging something that is going to take a beating, like a punching bag, make sure to hook up the chains on a load bearing wall.

you need to find a stud in the ceiling and make sure you got long enought nails because you dont want someone to punch it off the ceiling.

When hanging a punching bag, one must be careful about the placement. Assuming it will be hung from the ceiling, the ceiling where it is being placed must be strong enough to hold the weight of the bag. The bracket that will hold the bag and it's chain must be drilled into the ceiling securely.

This typically involves choosing mounting hardware, typically a screw-hook, to hang it, and a good location. Homes with unfinished ceilings in the basement make this task very easy, as it merely involves mounting the hook, and then hanging the bag on it.

You want to make sure that the area in the ceiling that will carry the weight can do so. Usually this needs to be a main cross beam. If not possible, you will need to install one to hold up the bag properly.

You are going to want to measure the weight and height of the punching bag. After that you have to measure the space it will be put it.

You want to make sure that when you're hanging anything you'll be beating around, it's securely anchored into an overhead joist. Usually, punching bags come with their own mounting equipment, and you just have to screw it in with screws that are meant for wood--if you're not sure which ones, ask someone at the hardware store.

you need a special bracket that screws to the wall the bracket hangs out a fair length from the wall the punch bag hooks on to the bracket.
