Every organization has their own guidelines for determining what is involved in ordaining a minister. Most organizations require a certain amount of education and experience. The process normally involves a series of interviews. There is also normally a test to demonstrate both practical and biblical knowledge. Then there is an ordination ceremony at which the candidates are ordained.

Ordination usually involves a written doctrinal test and a oral defense of your beliefs in front of a panel of individuals who are already ordained. . Graduation from an approved seminary is often a requirement.

With so man churches, there's no answer to how you can become ordained. The best approach is to talk to a clergy person who is a member of your faith, and ask what the process involves. It could be as simple as sending a check to the Universal Life Church or as complex as going to a seminary.

Ordination differs from religion to religion, both in how and who gets to be ordained. Many of the world's religions have college programs called "Schools of Divinity".
