Flagyl is usually used to treat gastric problems in dogs. It is an antibiotic. It can affect the dog's liver but when the drug is discontinued it usually clears up. If the dog has an accidental overdose, the symptoms are loss of balance, vomiting, visual problems and seizures. A Flagyl overdose is an emergency.

It is used to treat giardia, which is a protozoal infection. It is found in stagnant water. It is also used to treat trichomonas vaginitis. It can be sexually transmitted, so the dog should not be breed during treatment of this infection.
