I think it's rarer than sitcoms would imply due to insurance, but I've seen it in real life in a bar once. Yes, they actually heaved dwarves onto a mat.

Yes, they really do throw people. This first happened a few years ago in bars where it was considered fun entertainment. It takes a strong person to pick up a dwarf and throw them. The dwarf would wear pads and a helmet and thrown into cushioned pads to minimize injury.
