Beta fish in captivity do not generally show any particularly notable tendencies. Generally, they should move around their container at a mild to medium pace and respond more aggressively only if there is food or another beta present.

Betas are a labyrinth fish, this means they make their own oxygen. The males are very territorial and will flare when they see another beta. The males make a bubble nest for their young. You can not have 2 males in the same tank.

Beta fish are not very motivated fish. they hang out near the bottom of tank, and might puff up if you get to close to the tank.
