What is causing a pain under my heart?

If you feel a sharp pain right under the left side of your rib, it can be Precordial Catch Syndrome. This is a very common and no serious condition which a lot of people have experienced. Or in some cases it is caused by a heart disease.

Anytime you have pain associated near or in the heart,medical attention is very necessary. Pain around the heart could come from muscle spasms,infection,upper digestional tract,malfunction of the heart,thoracic spinal issues and Fibromyalgia.

It may be several things. A few questions you need to ask first: When did it start? Was it after you at a larger meal? Were you asleep and it woke you? Was it during a stressful situation that you noticed it? It may be your diaphram.

It is most likely that you simply have bad heartburn. What did you eat or drink prior to the incident? Certain foods may not work well with your body just as certain drinks may not. Usually this occurs with acidic drinks and foods, although you will see it with spicy food as well.
