What is "burlwood" furniture?

Burl wood is actually more of what happens to wood, the wood gets a deformity in it because of certain environmental factors, such as ants, mold, etc. Many furniture makers take this wood and use it to make one of a kind pieces of furniture and companies sometimes use it because of it's unique grain patterns.

No, this is actually what happens to the furniture over time. This can be because of the environmental factors of insects. This wood is even bought by some companies because of the look they get after deforming.
