An outdoor wedding always means it's a bit more casual than an indoor wedding. In addition, I would lean towards cotton or linen, rather than synthetics or heavier fabrics.

I would shy away from very bright colors. Go for a muted brown/gold/green palette that reflects the season. As in any case, stay away from the color white!

Try a dress with tall boots and a wrap for an outdoor fall wedding. Just make sure your heels aren't too pointy or you will sink into the grass!
