Consonance is a style of writing often found in songs and poems. It's when the same consonant occurs a lot in quick succession; a lot of tongue twisters are a good example of this. It's not necessarily alliteration, though--"My Masked Mouse MiMicked Many Mustachioed MaMMals" works just as well as "caNNibals atteNd diNNer iN braNd New uNderwear."

Consonance is the repetition of the same consonant at least two times in a row. It is used most frequently in poetry. An example would be "My Mom makes yummy clams."
