Alkaline water, or ionized water, is water that is above neutral on the PH scale. It is on the alkaline side. It usually measures around 8. Some people believe it is beneficial to overall nutritional health. However, others hold that not enough research has been done to know for sure.

It is water that has a PH of 7 or higher. It can also be known as hard water, as it contains more minerals.
