Work in Process refers to the value of components that have been deducted from inventory for a work order but that work order has not yet been completed so the assembly has not yet been added into inventory.
A Work in Progress Inventory is a list of unfinished items put into one group or set to show the progress or process of these items. The work in progress is finalized when these items are finished.
