"White Mite" is a generic term which is applied to mites of a white coloration, a wide range of mites may earn this designation, however, this term is often applied to Dermatophagoides, and Glycyphagus domesticus. Other varieties of mites may have earned the designation "White Mite" and would require examination to be identified.

A white mite is a very small bug that is common in households with fruit. White mites are pests in the fact that like gnats they feed on ripened fruit products.

You could be talking about a number of different mites but I am going to go with the Tarsonemidae because that is what they are usually called. These mite generally feed on live plants. They aren't very common in peoples homes so not a lot of study has been done on controlling them.

These are tinier than aphids and are more difficult to control. They live primarily on the undersides of leaves which makes irradication harder.
