A tray ceiling in a ceiling that in essence sits in trays created by rows and columns of support bars. These bars are usually anchored at multiple points along the ceiling. Once in you can install the tray tiles of your choice and most stores have many different ones for you to choose from.

Tray ceiling is where the ceiling rises up in the center a little bit. Usually have crown molding around it with some chain light hidden behind it.
