A toxic relationship is when the relationship is actually harmful to the person. Your mom might be worried about how your boyfriend treats you. Is he abusive or mean?

If you are very passionate but are no good for each other. You may not see it but if others around you not just your mom are saying it then it may be true. If you always fight then it's no way to live. Relationships are meant to be pleasing and exciting, not destructive and disappointing.
