A thatching blade is a lawnmower blade with rake like teeth on it. The teeth pull up the thatch from the ground surface. This is good for lawns with heavy thatch which can impede the growth of your grass.

A thatching blade is usually attached to the front or back of a riding mower or tractor. A thatching blade works just like a rake. As it goes along the lawn, it pulls up and removes the dead grass. It makes room for new grass to grow.
