Mix together 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup Elmers glue (not school glue), 3 drops food coloring. Then mix 1 cup water and 1 tablespoon Borax together and add to glue mixture stirring well. Leave the mixture to air dry for 1 hour. Will be smooth and rubbery when dry. Store in ziploc bag.

Simply mix together white glue and liquid starch in a plastic bag. Add a little extra starch or glue for whatever consistency you want. However, be aware that homemade silly putty generally doesn't have the same features as commercial silly putty. It won't pick up images or bounce. It will stick to your clothes and carpet though; so be careful.
