A scoop colander is just like any other, only that it has a handle. Instead of dumping your noodles (or whatever) into the colander, you scoop them out with it.

A scoop colander has a long handle attached. It allows you to pour contents through it while holding the colander with your other hand. It is also very handy for scooping out pasta or vegetables directly out of the boiling water while letting the water drain back into your pot.
