It could depend on if you have a boy child or girl child. If you have a boy child the circumference may be a little larger on average because usually boys are larger. The average/normal circumference is around 35-a little over 38 cm. If your child ranges a little more or less than this is ok.

The average ranges from 38 to 44 cms. The main concern is that the head has grown about 6 cm since birth.

What is normal for your infant and what's normal for another infant is two different things. Ask your doctor for a print out showing what percentile your baby is in. It should show on the chart what is normal.
