What could be the cause of the bump on the side of my infant son's head?

The bump could possibly be a swollen lymph node depending on the location, (behind the ear lobe). It could also be an insect bite, maybe a mosquito or spider. It would probably be red and itchy if that were the case. If it bothers the infant or doesn't go away soon you should see a doctor.

The bump could be caused by calcium build-up in the formation of the skull. You should have a doctor check on this problem as soon as possible to ensure that it is not something more serious.
