A ground stroke is when a strike is made on the ground. It's basically in all field sports that is where the ground stroke takes place. Thus, this will be an excellent way to get points as well. I recommend making good strokes all of the time. For more information go to wikipedia.

A ground stroke is in tennis. It can either be a forehand or a backhand, but it is usually done from deep in the court around the baseline. The opposite would be a volley. In a groundstroke, the ball bounces before you hit it.

In Tennis, a Ground Stroke is a backhand or forehand stroke which is executed after the ball bounces once on the court. It is mostly hit from the baseline(back of the court) as the player is forced to retreat due to power of the shot from the opponent. Andre Agassi and Bjorn Borg were two great players of the shot.
