If you are suffering from a burn from using Nair, a hair removal product, then you should run your leg over with cold water, or use ice. That'll help with the burn.

I think i got a Chemical Burn under my arm... how could i treat it? its been hurting for 7 hrs!! add a comment
water, water, water water, then pick yourself up something with lidocaine in it. It burns very badly at first but the pain turns to numb after two seconds. It is so worth it..
The best way to treat a chemical burn from a hair removal product would be to apply an antibiotic cream. Some antibiotic creams also contain pain medication. Another way to treat the burn would be to apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the affected area. Keep the affected area clean using a mild soap.

NEVER use petroleum jelly or any oil based product on a chemical burn! add a comment

yeah, petroleum jelly will seal the burn up and keep it from healing. The thing you need to do is draw the chemical/heat OUT of the burn. And while antibiotic is a great idea, get the cream kind not the clear jelly kind, which is mostly petroleum jelly. add a comment

hmm, well neosporin is 'gel' thus must be mostly petroleum jelly, yet it heals stuff, its not like skin requires air to replensish lost cells. pay attention in science classes. . . . add a comment

Cut the air off to your skin and we will see how it regenerates and heals. I am a doctor. Never put petroleum jelly on a burn of any kind. Rinsing with cool water and applying Bactine will help with pain as well as antibiotic treatment without smothering your skin. add a comment
First.. cool water flush. Ice. Pure, organic aloe or aloe leaf. Plain toothpaste.. not gel.. thin layer will take out the sting on any burn and reduce blistering. We keep toothpaste in our jewelry/torch room and it works!
I always use aloe vera gel (or the aloe plant itself) to treat burns. It soothes the pain from the burn, and it also causes a cooling sensation, which helps.
I have a nair chemical burn in the bend of the knees! "ouch" but I've used dermoplast spray "found at Walgreen's" to clean and numb the affected area, then a thin layer of Balmex creamy diaper rash cream to protect the area, Great no more pain!
If it's from waist down, apply moist gauze, wash cloth, or paper towel. Other remedies can be under the gauze. CAREFULLY pull on panty hose. This will let the wound breathe and keep the wet stuff close. I had a nare burn on scrotum, this healed it overnight.
Rinse the area with cool water (if possible, soak the affected area and use a soft sponge/washcloth to dab at the area to ensure any leftover chemicals are washed off). Then coat the burn with Vaseline and cover with clean gauze. Repeat every day until healed.

once again, seals up the burn. Only benefit is that it does seal other stuff out, so i guess it could work, but it may also delay the healing. add a comment
The good treatment for every burn general method is that use the crystal salt on the burn place. The way is first put the salt and mix with water,so the burn place speedly cured.Another method is use the toothpaste. On the burn place rub the toothpaste and it help for curing the burn.
I used it for the first time on my upper lip and i have little red spots all over my face which look like cuts. They tend to bleed if i open my mouth up wide enough. i need help!!!
I did the same thing but on my face, don't ask! Anyway, I have some aloe Vera juice in the fridge, soaked a wash cloth in the cool liquid and dabbed it and covered my face with it, immediate relief, the cold feels sooo good. Apply several times a day
i have no idea what went wrong i fallowed the instructions 1 by one but my legs just went red and swelled so i used nappy rash cream burn cream and baby power and it dosent sting anymore,
This just happened to me. After using nair, my legs were bright red and super painful- imagine an extremely bad sunburn. Desperate and almost in tears (not wanting to go out for burn cream) I covered my leg in neosporn and then baby powder. Now I'm pain free!
Rinse area with cool water several times a day and pat dry. Apply Bactine spray to area and keep open to air. Bactine has lidocaine and antibiotic treatment in one. It will take awhile to heal. Keep it clean and let air to it. You need to be patient.
As per the directions on Nair, don't wash with soap after using the product, that causes a burn too. Rinse, rinse, rinse, thoroughly then pat dry l-i-g-h-t-l-y.
The cream based neosporin in very effective, but first clean the affected area (I bought some sterile saline rinse) and apply the cream. It does help, but nothing is an overnight fix for a burn of such magnitutde. Be patient and consistent with treatment, you will see results.
