From my experience being in the automotive industry for the past nine years I would first have the vehicle inspected. You can better judge the price by the vehicle condition, it's worth the 50 dollar investment to have it inspected! If it was in great condition I would pay two thousand to twenty six hundred dollars.

What trim level is it? What kind of options does the car have? How many miles? How does the body look? Any rust? Has it ever been in an accident? Do a search on and see what is in the market in your area. The Taurus is a popular car, there should be a lot to compare.

Request inspection and make sure main parts of the car such as the engine, transmission and the fluids in car is good before purchasing. Price range $2000-$3000 if you able to afford it. Ask can you work out a down payment if dealer willing to let you do this.
