First off get the fluid checked and make sure its the transmission and not the engine. Otherwise it might be about out so it needs serviced.

The cheapest solution is to have the oil and filter changed. Otherwise, you may need to have the transmission worked on or have it replaced. The bands in it do sometimes wear out causing the problem you are talking about.

have a mechanic check the computer on the car. also, check to see if the transmission filter is stopped up.
