A French pocket door in your house or apartment is a beautiful way to brighten a room and save space. The door is like a big window with multiple glass panels, also called lites, that slides into a hole in the wall when opened. When closed the French pocket door allows for light to come in from the adjoining room.

Like a french door, the french pocket door has 2 doors that open from the center. Designed for those with little space to accomodate for swinging doors, in the french pocket door assembly, there is a pocket on each side of the opening to accomodate the door for that side.

These give you more room. They actually slide into the wall making it easier to maneuver around the room. They are used a lot for handicapped persons so that there is room enough for the wheelchair to move around.
