Whether is is legal to carry the knife depends on the length of the blade. Contact your local police department and asked to speak to someone about carrying a pocketknife. Measure the blade and explain that you carry it for utility purposes.

If you carry a pocket knife and the blade is under 6 inches then you are not in violation of the law in most public buildings.

This depends on weather or not you have a criminal record. In Ohio as long as you do not have a criminal record you can carry a pocket knife that is less than 2 inches long and has a folding blade. You cannot take it into areas that say "no concealed weapons".
