Diurnal raccoons are active during the day. The definition of diurnal is "cheifly active during the day". Sometimes raccoons go diurnal because they are sick and they will get very aggresive. Avoid contact with them and make sure to cover your trash.

A "diurnal" anything means it's active during the day. Raccoons are frequently nocturnal (active at night), but it appears your area racoons are out and about in daylight.

"Diurnal" means that an animal is active during the day. Diurnal raccoons are a bit unusual, because raccoons are usually nocturnal (active at night). Be careful - sometimes a raccoon becomes diurnal because it is sick, and it may be aggressive (they are usually fairly shy).

Day time coons is what you have on your hands. Diurnal raccoons are simply raccoons that appear in the day time. Most raccoons prefer to come out in the dead of night to feast on garbage and scraps. A diurnal raccoon doesnt wait for the night, he will be around you house in the light of day.
