Loss of eyelash is most common due to the age factor and loss of nutrients. It can be treated by applying castor oil over the eyelash.

Loss of eyelashes is also known as milphosis. Inflammation of the eyelids, hypopituitarism and hypoparathyroidism, lepromatous leprosy and in rare cases like Systemic fungal infection with paracoccidioidomycosis can cause eyeash lose. Trauma from rubbing may cause of unilateral or bilateral lash loss. The loss of lashes may be secondary to allergy to the use of eye cosmetics such as mascara
