A high school diploma (or possibly a GED) is required to enlist in the USMC. There are no requirements as to the specific high school classes except for those required to graduate. You will take the ASVAB as part of the process to help determine your career direction in the military.

You must have a high school diploma to enlist in the Marines. They will consider a GED, but not often. To get a high school diploma, you must have completed the required curriculu, which is the main concern of the USMC. No special coursework is required. You will take the ASVAB.

The Marines don't require any specific classes, they require a High School diploma. That being said, some handy classes to take in HS to help you in the Marines are: Math, English, Biology, Auto Mechanics, Electricity, Management, Accounting and Personal Finance. These courses will help you be a better Marine!

Whether it be the Marine CORPS or another branch, as long as you have a high school diploma will make you eligible to join the military. Now, if you have ROTC training in high school will help determine a rank after basic training and schooling to determine where you belong.
