What happens with a Benadryl overdose?

My friend drinks a lot of Benadryl to help him sleep.

If your friend is drinking this daily, as with any medicine you build up a tolerance. So as he/she does this,they need more everytime.This should be addressed with a doctor.

Benadryl is an antihistamine, which can cause extreme dizziness and sleepiness. As with any suspected overdose, you must immediately seek emergency treatment.

an overdose can kill you. cardiac events, respiratory depression, etc. other neurologic sequelae such as seizures, disorientation, abnormal movements of muscles (not seizures) this drug has anticholinergic effects...... hallucinations, psychosis also occur. side effects can be serious, but usually resolve after you stop ingesting benadryl.

You can't technically overdose on Beadryl. It's an allergy drug, and a weak one at that. At worst he's going to feel sleepy or groggy the next day.

It is an antihistamine(diphenhydramine).It helps in treating sneezing,cough,running nose,etc.Its overdose can cause extreme sleepiness,weakness,ringing in the ears,insomnia,confusion,hallucination and possibly seizures.It can cause allergic reactions like diffficulty in breathing,swollen lips etc..
