What happens if you make a plea of "no contest" for speeding tickets?

"No contest" lets the court rule as it would were you to plead "guilty." You will be fined and assessed court costs.

If you do not contest the ticket, you do not have a hearing with a judge or trial. You will need to pay the fine. You can still request deferred adjudication, so that after completion of defensive driving or 180 days without another ticket, it doesn't affect your insurance.
