Evanescence is still active and recording music. In fact, the band is going to start recording their third album in February 2010. They also released a previously unheard song for fans who donated to rebuild Haiti after the earthquake in January 2010.
In early June 2009 Amy Lee wrote on their website that they were in the process of writing new material for a new album for release in 2010. She said that the music would be "better, stronger, and more interesting. "
