The 8.6 ounce baby was born on September 19, 2004 and set a record for being the world's tiniest baby. Incredibly, the child survived despite being very premature. As of September 2007, the baby and her twin sister were doing very well and have no behavioral problems or learning problems reported.

If the 8.6 ounce baby that you are referring to was the Russian baby, then it appears as if the baby is doing well. Articles show that the world's tiniest baby was doing well 3 months later and other articles show that the baby developed normally.
