You should be careful not to crowd your 10 gallon tank, with either fish that are too large or too many. Guppies, tetras, catfish or mollies work good for this size tank, although there are many others. Consider how large they will become, not how large they are now!

A ten gallon aquarium is rather small, so there are restrictions on what types of fish you can put in it. Small gouramis, tetras, barbs, danios, guppies, platys, and swordtails are good. Fish that can get large such as cichlids, plecos, and goldfish are bad. You should follow the one inch to one gallon rule for tank stocking.
