Most beach cover ups are made of terry cloth. You can get some cute terry cloth. Just about any kind of material can be used to make these. The terry cloth seems to be most popular because it is so absorbant and soft. Many cover ups can be found at a good price at yard sales.

I usually opt for a lightweight cotton or linen, cuter than terry-cloth and more flattering than a sheer. Plus it handles dampness really well.

Terry Cloth and cotton is traditional. Those are the easiest to work with and the cheapest to use if you are making the beach cover ups yourself.
