What dog breeds are hypoallergenic? And does that mean they don't shed or don't shed a lot?

Hypoallergenic dogs have hair like humans. They do not shed seasonally like "normal" dogs but rather year round in much smaller quantity (depending on the size of a dog).

There are dogs without dander and do not shed (Maltese, bichon frise,shih-tzu). Be careful though because saliva and urine can also be sources of allergens(sometimes more so than dander).
