The error could mean a couple of things: 1) the software driver you've installed did not install properly; 2) the software driver is not compatible with the operating system version (make sure the driver is a match for your OS) and 3) your physical drive has failed (this is rare but it could happen)

Well that basically means that your driver is not installed. So therefore, if you receive this error, then try again and reinstalling the driver. If that doesn't work then do some configurations.

This error message means that your portable hard drive is not being recognized. What I would recommend doing is reinstalling the driver directly from the source.

This error message may be happen by the following reasons. First hard drive is not recognized to the corresponding program or not properly installed in proper way. Or otherwise to check the physical drives working condition. In other reason is that software for drive is not suitable with operating system.

I own a Western Digital external drive wd1600xms-00. I used with a iMac OS X 10.6.4. now I have an HP with windows 7. I can't see the external drive? please help
