Sodium sulfacetamide is a topical treatment for various skin infections and conditions. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria. If you are allergic to sulfa drugs or are currently using any ointment that contains "sulfa" in the title, you need to consult with your doctor or pharmacist before applying sodium sulfacetamide, especially to seriously damaged skin.
