Too much protein in the kidneys is indicitive of problems in other major organs including the heart and brain. The urine test will show signs of blood-vessel damage which should not be ignored as it will probably be present in other organs. People who show protein spills in their urine are usually at risk of heart failure and stroke.

Urine is normally free of protein. Protein is too large to pass through the filters of the kidney. Protein spilling into the urine usually means mechanical damage or renal failure.

It means that kidneys fail to filter the proteins in the blood. So the urine may contain proteins. This indicates a defective glomerulus.

Your kidneys are not functioning property and they can have a difficult time with a protein buildup - they are not processing the proteins, thus "spilling out" into the body.
