What does it mean when a ruling is "decree absolute?"

I just got some court papers.

A "decree nisi" is a judgment or order by the court that is dependent upon another event or action. A "decree absolute" is the final decree. It is binding and cannot be changed.

A "decree absolute" ruling is one which will not be enforced until a particular condition is met. This is similar to a contingency contract in real estate.
