"Idk" is urban shorthand for "I don't know". It is used in texting, internet messaging, internet chat and other forms of electronic communication. It seems to be most commonly used by "tweens" and early teens, girls primarily, in text messages. Some urban culture observers believe it has moved into territory formerly belonging to the infamous "whatever" As for me, Idk.

"Idk" is a widely popular internet acronym that is also used frequently in text messages. It stands for "I don't know." In most instances, it's much quicker than typing out all of the words, though sometimes it can just create confusion to someone who doesn't understand the popular internet acronyms.
