A bloody bowel movement can be very serious. You probably have a bleed somewhere in your digestive tract. Bright red blood usually means hemorrhoids or piles. Black bowel movements mean there is blood mixed in. If this presists, you need to see your doctor because much unexplained bleeding from anywhere is not good.

Bloody stool is mainly indicative of a hemorrhoid which has become inflamed. You may want to go to a doctor if you did not know about a hemorrhoid condition.

It can be serious and shouldn't be taken lightly because it is one symptom of colon cancer. It is best to see a doctor as soon as you can.
