HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. The higher/ further along you are in your pregnancy, the higher the level of HCG will be present. Altough HCG levels vary among pregnanet women, the average pregancy of 8 weeks would have an HCG level of 16000. Above or below that level would not be abnormal.

HCG is a hormone that relates to pregnancy. HCG continues to double from the beginning of pregnancy, up to a point, then levels off. Without knowing how far along you are, its difficult to know what that particular level means. Extremely high HCG levels can indicate ectopic pregnancy if they are at the very beginning.
