Male katydids produces a shrill mating song that sounds like they're repeating "katy did, katy didn't. " You can mainly hear it at night in late summer.
It sounds similar to a frog, except higher pitched and more consistent. The sounds is like a low pitched, vibrating squeak. It comes in pairs, as if saying "katydid, katydidn't" over and over again.
