Thompson seals works well for all outdoor wood protections. We use it on our porches, picnic table and deck. It even protects against hot sun.

Any all weather stain will work well. Stainmasters makes many different colors and types to choose from that will also allow you to stain and seal all in one easy application.

Any sealant based with linseed oil should sufficiently protect the deck for a couple of years. Thompson's Water Seal is a highly recommended brand with some formulations containing a percentage of linseed oil as a protective barrier.
