Let the mother take complete care of the kitten, she will clean it and let it start to eat. If the mother is not there or it has passed away and the kitten is still living, you can carefully clean it with a dry washcloth. And feed it some special formula that is made for kittens.

Make sure it is breathing and mouth is cleared. Try to get it to meow which is a natural instinct. Place it with the mother for cleaning.

If Mum's doing her job you don't need to do anything. Make sure Mom has cleaned the kitten, and kit is feeding. My queens have always woken me up, wanted me right there- however if too many people are present, Mum may stop giving birth. Make sure there's a comfortable place, and handle the kits as much as you can.

Just leave nature to do its work. Make sure the mother is caring for the kitten, and that it is being kept warm and fed by the mother.

A soft comfortable place will be found to keep it warm,and it is very important to feed it regularly. Sometimes I put it in my arms to look at it closely.
