First you need to make sure both dogs are calm. Then bring them together and make sure they stay calm and neither dog shows aggression.

Many dogs will know that the puppy is in deed a puppy. When introducing make sure that everything is calm. No louad noise to disrupt the introduction. When the two are first greeting there will be some sniffing and nudging. Make sure that the nudging does not become aggressive. This will ensure no one is hurt.

Introductions should be made as soon as the puppy is brought into the home. Supervision is the key. A puppy should never be left alone with an older dog, as they will be playful and possibly try to nurse or bite an older dog.
