What you need to do is determined by the property manager or landlord. Some properties require an additional security deposit; other require a co-signer. It's up to the various properties to decide what requirements are regarding credit.

Some landlords or agents will lease to someone with poor credit if other conditions are met. Some require a co-signer on the lease and/or a larger security deposit. The landlord or agent can determine what the special conditions are; they will likely vary from one apartment to the next. You might call ahead and find out what is expected.

If you don't have any credit or rental history, you might be able to use your paystubs to show that you have the ability to pay rent. You may also need a co-signer on the lease, that would be responsible if you defaulted and were evicted. You may, also, need to put down an additional deposit for the apartment.

You will probably need two things. Some places require that you give them a list of any jobs you've held in the last two years and any places you've rented. You may need a cosigner if you can't do these requirements.

This would be entirely up the the apartment owner's regulations. However, you should be able to lease an appartment with a co-signer. Most of the time this is sufficient for someone with no credit.

You should talk with the apartment owner, you may have to pay a larger security deposit or a couple of months rent up front since you do not have credit.
