On Dancing with the Stars they do traditional ballroom steps. They do the foxtrot, samba, quick step, jive, most all ballroom dances. They do both smooth and latin. You can go to any ballroom school and learn these dances. It starts out basic on the show and it will in lessons, but the stars are good and do advanced moves.
